Creating Sustainable Health Goals for 2024

HELLO, 2024 – a year brimming with potential and the perfect time to redefine your approach to health and fitness. Instead of lofty resolutions that fade by February, let's focus on creating sustainable, enjoyable, and achievable health goals.


Setting Realistic Goals

Start by assessing your current lifestyle and setting realistic goals. Forget drastic changes; small, incremental steps often lead to lasting changes. For instance, if you're new to exercise, aim for three TO FOUR workout sessions a week instead of an unrealistic daily commitment.


Understanding Your 'Why'

Your motivation for YOUR fitness journey should be personal and compelling. Whether it's feeling energized, improving health, or gaining confidence, your 'why' IS WHAT WILL keep you motivated on tough days, AND WE ALL KNOW BY NOW THAT 'A NEW YEAR' ISN'T COMPELLING ENOUGH.


Creating a Balanced Routine

A balanced routine includes various elements – cardio, strength training, MOBILITY OR RECOVERY, and rest. Remember, a well-rounded fitness plan is more sustainable and effective in the long run.


Incorporating Nutrition

Nutrition plays a critical role in achieving your health goals. Focus on incorporating a variety of nutrients AND LOTS OF PROTEIN-DENSE FOOD OPTIONS into your diet rather than restricting calories OR MAJOR FOOD GROUPS. Listen to your body's needs, BUT MAKE SURE TO BE AWARE OF NEEDS VS FEELINGS AS WELL!


Tracking Progress

Keep track of your progress, but remember, it's not just about the scale. Celebrate non-scale victories like improved strength, better sleep, or increased energy levels. WHATEVER WE MEASURE CAN BE MANAGED. IF YOU AREN'T SEEING PROGRESS AND YOU AREN'T TRACKING THE ACTIONS YOU ARE TAKING, THERE'S NO WAY TO KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO MANAGED.


Setting sustainable health goals is about creating a lifestyle you love, one that nurtures your body and mind. This year, let's focus on what truly matters – your health and happiness. Yes, we can have both!
